Health Institute in Ostrava ( ZUOVA ) was established in 2003 by transforming health stations , following the merger of professional laboratory and support facilities for the support of the evaluation activities in the field of public health. ZUOVA within the main activities carried out an investigation of clinical material for the needs of patients, physicians , introduces the most advanced diagnostic methods in laboratory practice , educates health care professionals, offers counseling, monitors the environment and, addressing environmental accidents in cooperation with the government , conducts oversight activities for health stations , assesses the impact of the environment on human health , for the purpose of protecting the health of workers at work , the chemical and physical parameters of the working environment , examines the health and safety of food products of common use , performs tests for acceptance , monitors the quality of the indoor environment in educational institutions , venues , hospitals etc. , creates an extensive study measured the noise in cities , health risks at a nationwide level , participating in European projects focused especially on the environment, cooperates with foreign partners.
Among other things, represents ZUOVA public research institution working in the field of public health, including health . Performs measurement and evaluation of harmful factors of working and living environment, especially chemical pollutants , particulate matter and physical factors .
