The emergence of the faculty on applied computer science as a separate part of Tomas Bata University in Zlín was the logical result of the efforts of the University to apply in the field of information technology. Faculty of Applied Informatics (FAI) was established on 1 First 2006 transformation of the existing Institute for Process Control and Applied Informatics (IRPI) at the Faculty of Technology. The institute was founded in the first half of 2004 was a restructuring of the Institute of Information Technologies. The basis of the mentioned institutions was the Institute (formerly Department) automation and control technology, which the Faculty of Technology at the time, has existed for more than 14 years (Department of Automation was established on 1 9th 1986).

Products and services

The Faculty of Applied Informatics is possible to study degree courses at all levels in Master's Studies within the meaning of the Bologna Declaration. Students have the opportunity to attend:

• Bachelor's study

• Master study

• Graduate Education

• habilitation and professorship procedures .

Faculty of Applied Informatics offers degrees in 9 fields of study in an accredited degree program Engineering Informatics .

In addition to bachelor's and master's degree courses , students in the doctoral study program " Computer Science " study courses " Computer Science ", " Automatic Control and Informatics " and focus " Security Technologies, Systems and Management " and "Software Engineering" . The Faculty of Applied Informatics can carry out habilitation procedures and appointment management associate professors in the field of " controlling machines and processes ."

Tomas Bata University in Zlín is a member of many international organizations.
